Moira's Blurb

I am Moira Robertson-Brown and I am the owner of NUMB1Z Limited. I started my accounting career with Price Waterhouse in 1994 in their Audit & Business Advisory Division undertaking a number of internal/external audits and compliance work. In addition, I was seconded to Insolvency and Consultancy divisions for specific jobs.

Having learnt a lot I took on a roll as the financial accountant for the Ministry for the Environment preparing all their financial reports for Treasury. A move to the Wairarapa took me to work in Greytown at the clothing manufacturer Bouzaid & Ballaben Ltd. After a restructure I was made redundant & my first company Robertson Brown’s was born.

Following the birth of my two children, in the middle of 2005, I had the opportunity to grow my fledgling practice by purchasing retiring accountant John Haines’ fees. I worked on this practice and gradually built it up into a thriving little business.

A few opportunities came up including merging Robertson Brown’s with The Hive Chartered Accountants Limited in 2013 and in 2015 we bought the practice of A Fraser & Co Limited.  At this time I moved my practice and most of my clients from Martinborough to the Carterton office and began developing new relationships with the existing clients of Carterton.

An exciting opportunity cropped up to take the practice out on my own in 2017 and never being one to miss opportunities I jumped at the chance.  As I thrive on autonomy and quick decision making this is an added bonus to enable me to meet client’s needs.

Outside work I enjoy spending time with my family and partaking in my true passion of riding horses. I also enjoy reading & doing Zumba.
